Rainbow Baby Shower Invites

It was my absolute pleasure and joy to create these custom baby shower invites for a dear friend. A baby after a loss is lovingly known as a ‘rainbow baby’ and that is what is being celebrated here. I have my own rainbow baby so designing and creating these invites were especially meaningful for me.

Even though these invites feature a retired product I still wanted to share them as I did use a new stamp set called ‘So Inviting’. It a must have set for someone who likes to entertain and host events. I love to create handmade invites!

The rainbow colors match some party supplies and are Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Seaside Spray and Pacific Point. I think they are soft and perfect for a baby shower invite.

I created the cloud by smearing Shimmery White embossing paste on strips of Whisper White card stock. I kept it full of texture so when I cut it out into the cloud it had had the appearance of looking fluffy!

I hope everyone who receives one of these whimsical and delightful invites knows how much love went into them and how much they mean to the mom. Especially during these times when gatherings have to be limited, they are extra special and it was a blessing to create them!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

You know this childhood sentiment! I was channelling little flowers and a rainbow today when I came up with this card. I used the new Confetti Flowers Border Punch to create this rainbow arch. This is card #22 in my “A Card a Day in May” challenge series.

To construct the rainbow, I stamped the sentiment first. This is a great tip for spacing AND I did’t want to risk making this awesome tedious rainbow and then stamp crooked. Haha! It happens and it’s devastating! So I stamped first in Poppy Parade and then started with the Highland Heather layer of flowers and worked my way up and out. The sentiment is from the stamp set Tasteful Touches and will be available with the new catalogue release.

I used Tombow Multipurpose glue to adhere all the little flowers. My Take a Pick Tool was a lifesaver as it made it so easy to pick up the flowers and place them onto the glue without having sticky fingers.

The colors used to create this rainbow arch are Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Soft Seafoam, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather

The Confetti Flower Punch punches out three different sizes of flowers that made putting this rainbow arch together so easy!

I Heart Rainbows

For my 18th “A Card a Day in May” and it falling on a Monday, I wanted to do something with rainbow colors and Detailed Heart die because I haven’t played with it yet and rainbows are always a fun way to start the week! I chose my color pallet and sponged the colors across a piece of cardstock and then ran it though the die cutting machine with the Detailed Heart die.

I love how it turned out! I wanted the focus to be in the die so I added the sentiment from the Waterfront stamp set and cut it with the Stiched So Sweetly dies. I added the gold thread from the new Forever Greenery Trim Combo and then I used mini staples to attach the panel at an angle to the card.

The colors I used were Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Pretty Peacock

TOP TIP: An easy way to adhere the Detailed Hearts die is to use Tombow glue with a sponge. Simply cut a Stampin’ Sponge into quarters. Squirt some Tombow into a container (I keep all of my empty embellishment containers to use for stuff like this) and dab the sponge into it. On the back of your Detailed Heart die, dab this sponge all over to get coverage. Flip and attach to your project! It is so fast and easy!

Sometimes you don’t need a lot of ‘stuff’ to make a card really special. I kept things simple on this one!

Who loves a rainbow?

I know I absolutely love a rainbow and when I can make something with a color scheme it just makes my whole heart happy! I was so excited to play with our new In Colors (Roccoco Rose, Pretty Peakcock, Terracotta Tile, Seaside Spray and Purple Posey) and add them into a rainbow lineup! I love how amazing our colors all look together! This layout was actually quite quick to put together using the Tailored Tag punch!
