Tropical Retreat Weekend

Today was supposed to be the first day of my three day Tropical Themed retreat. I was scheduled to host a weekend of stampin’ with 15 of my favourite people, but the universe has had other plans. We have rescheduled but I wanted to share some of the fun projects I had created for them. It makes me a little less sad about the turn of events.

I created a cute pocket pouch that holds some class passes to some of my favourite workout studios in Edmonton and a voucher for some Davids Tea. I recently shared another project with this pouch style card, I hope you were inspired by it too! The flowers, DSP and color pallet are all inspired but the Tropical Oasis suite in the Occasions catalogue.

Fun tip: Sometimes a stamped image just needs a little something, I find a flick or spray of a Stampin’ Write marker ink is the perfect touch as you can tell on the large flower.

I found these cute bags on my recent Target trip and they were perfect for some of the little gifts I had for everyone. A fun stamped tag was the perfect touch!

This was a last minute project! I had already done a lot of the food prep including making my Oreo Popcorn. Here is the link, it is posted on my Lifestyle Tab under Favourite Recipes :

Once I decided the retreat wasn’t going ahead I packaged up a bunch of popcorn using the 3x9 Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bags from the Birthday Bonanza collection. The pineapple tag was created using the yellow pigment sprinkles on Daffodil Delight card stock. The top of the pineapple is from the SAB Lilypad DSP. The Let’s Hang Out Soon sentiment seemed appropriate and is from the SAB second release called Rise and Shine. I hope they do brighten up everyone’s day a little bit!

Its a Valentine's Bonanza!

I absolutely love Valentine’s Day. I love making V Day projects, cards and buying special gifts for my family. When my kids were little we developed a “Pink Dinner” tradition. My husband and I realized that we probably wouldn’t be going out to romantic dinners anymore with having three kids, so we decided to create something special for our whole family to enjoy. So I decorate our table with Valentine’s Decor and even pull out real wine glasses for the kids to use. We drink pink pop, eat heart shaped pizza and all the other foods are either pink or red. I will admit, it makes for a pretty interesting dinner sometimes. But it is fun and the kids all look forward to it. I will make sure to do a blog post of my table!

This year I will be adding these adorable heart tin treat boxes to each persons spot at the table and I will fill them with the candies each kid likes best (probably Skittles, Reeses pieces and Kit Kat’s!). I cannot resist these Bonanza Buddies, the Koala (fun fact: its one of my favourite animals, tied with the panda bear and an Ewok if they really existed!) and the lion are just beyond adorable! They can be found on page 33 of the Mini Catalogue. The entire Birthday Bonanza Suite is colourful, whimsical, and fun!

I love our new heart punches pack on page 10 as they are so easy for kids to use and the layering option of the two is fabulous. And personally, I think you can use hearts all year long! This project was a great way to use up some ribbon scraps as well. The sentiment, For You, is from the Label Me Bold stamp set which is a Million Dollar Achiever stamp set.

Hot Tip: you can use the classic label punch for any of the sentiments in the stamp set and just quickly snip the edges to get a perfect cut!

I added in the heart doilies to the bottom of the tins as well for that added detail. I think its awesome they come in a package of 40! Way to go Stampin’ Up!

I hope you are inspired by these super cute projects. I had so much fun making them and will be offering them at two different class times—-Wed, Jan 29th at 6:30 pm and Monday, Feb 10th at 6:30. They are perfect for kids and adults to make! Imagine finding one of these on your desk at work! Click on the Sign Up Now button to register for this class!

Honestly, I don’t care if you are 5 or 50, I think these would make anyone happy!

I thought it would be fun to add something to the inside of the lids. It is like a little extra surprise!

Joy of Sets Blog Hop-January!

I am so excited to participate in the Joy of Sets Blog Hop for 2020! This is the first Blog Hop I have ever participated in, so please be patient with me as I work out all the kinks on the techie side! My creative side is great, the techie side, not so much! haha!

Today I created ‘something new’ using the new Tropical Oasis Suite in the recently launched Mini Catalogue for 2020. This card is definitely an avid level project as it uses embossing paste and colouring with the Stampin’ Blends (in Mango Melody). The large flower is actually stamped in the new Saddle Brown Staz On ink that was released with this suite. I added in some of the Braided Burlap trim and a couple accent flags from the Tropical Oasis DSP. I love how it turned out with the layers and different textures! The leaves are in two colors, the stamped leaf is Old Olive and the small leaf is Mossy Meadow. The In the Tropics Dies for this set are great as they not only cut but they have shapes that also emboss such as the leaves.

I want to include all of the links for this fabulous Blog Hop (and to make sure that I don’t mess up where you need to go to see everyone’s projects!). You should have just been over at Rochell’s blog checking out her amazing project, and after me you will hop on over to Susan Webster’s Blog! If my NEXT BUTTON isn’t linked correctly (remember, newbie here!) you can at least access things from the main list!

And lastly, I want to give a huge SHOUT OUT to Angie for giving me the opportunity to be a part of the Joy of Sets Blog Hop and for helping me with some ‘behind the scenes’ stuff! You are so humble and gracious!

Bakers Box of tiny treats!

I am hosting an event and I wanted the stampers attending to create a really fun, bright, awesome project to GIVE AWAY! So I came up with this Bakers Box filled with 4 of the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Boxes. Each is uniquely decorated and contains a different type of Lindt chocolate. I used the Let it Snow DSP as my color pallet inspiration as I love the bright cheery colors of this paper.

Note that a strip of 12x12 paper is not enough to wrap all the way around the box, so I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock to complete the belly band. See the last photo!

I used the Tiny Keepsakes stamp set to embellish the tags and keepsake boxes. I love that the stamp set has 4 phrases so each could be used on box.

I love how this cute project turned out. You could even add a gift card underneath as a secret surprise!

Looking for an adorable gift to give? This bakers box with tiny treats inside is just perfect!

Hot Chocolate Cup o' Christmas

I created these super cute hot chocolate treat pouches for an upcoming Pop Up Shop that I am participating in and I wanted to share them with you, of course this is Day # 24 of a Christmas Card a Day, so I had to make a coordinating card as well. The belly band on the pouch is from the Come to Gather DSP, the Cherry Cobbler ribbon is from the Night Before Christmas Suite and of course the cups and the Reversible Cup of Christmas Bundle! I think they are just adorable!
