Color Fusers--May Color Challenge!

Hi friends! Welcome to another fun Color Fusers Blog Hop! We are so happy you are here. Each month our Blog Hop team creates projects with our monthly color challenge—sometimes it really is a challenge! But its a fun way to create with a color combos that are unique and different, and this month is no exception as we are crafting with Pebbled Path, Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve!

This past weekend was National Scrapbook Day so in honour of that, I have created a scrapbook page with this color combination for May.

I won’t lie, I actually found this a tough color combination as Moody Mauve isn’t necessarily a color I gravitate too.

I started with Bubble Bath as my base and I traced a paper plate with pencil onto the middle of my 12x12 page. This gave me the ‘cicle’ shape to use as guideline for my design.

Isn’t this a cute picture of Hawkins? I came across it recently and I thought it was pefect for this page

My picture is matted on Pebbled Path and offset to the left. From here I did some stamping to poke out from underneath the picture following the circle that I traced. I added a little tab of Pebble Path ribbon at the top of the picture and a scallop border along the edge.

I cut ‘My Bestie’ out with the Alphabet a la Mode Dies with a Foam Adhesive Sheet underneath to give them some lift. After that I just started stamping and collaring a variety of flowers to place around my traced circle, erasing the pencil as I went.

I used a combination of dies with card stock and DSP to help create my page. I even pulled out some retired heart embellishments that I have been hoarding!

I really love the design of this scrapbook page and I will probable recreate it with a different picture and color combination in the future. YES! I often use my own pages for inspiration, especially when I am feeling stuck. Plus, I have 3 kids—so eventually all of these pages will be divided up amongst then, so why not use a design you love more than once?

The stamp sets I used to create this layout were:

  1. Flowers of Beauty

  2. Textured Floral

I found that they worked really well together!

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Team has created with Bubble Bath, Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path this month. I do know that you will find lots of inspiration throughout the blog hop. Be Inspired Blog Hop--February!

Hi friends!

I know I haven’t been sharing on here as much so I am extra happy to be participating today in the Be Inspired Blog Hop! This month, February, we are sharing projects with our favorite things from the Occasions Catalogue. This is easy and challenging at the same time to pick just one or two things!

There are some really fantastic things in the new Occasions Catalogue so it was really hard to narrow it down. I decided to use a stamp set that I have been creating up a storm with lately. I have used this stamp set on a couple scrapbook pages and to make some cards for an upcoming birthday class. This is what I wanted to share with you today!

Isn’t this adorable? This fun card can be for a lot of occasions where you could have cake to celebrate! I intentionally left off a candle on the top so that it could be used for a variety of events.

The color palette is definitely one of my favourites at the moment!

—Bubble Bath

— Fresh Freesia

— Lemon Lolly

— Highland Heather

I started by stamping the base of the card with one of the flowers in the stamp set in the same color ink (Bubble Bath) in opposing corners to add some interest to the base.

The cake plate is stamped in Pebbled Path on the Basic White layer and then once again so I could hand cut it and pop it up.

The layers of the cake alternate color and direction. I started with Bubble Bath, then Fresh Freesia and a little layer of Lemon Lolly with one of the icing stamps in the set. This stamp set has 25 images to choose from the build your cakes and pies!

I stamped four different flower designs from the stamp set to add as decorations to my cake. I used two stamps to create the sentiment, ‘Time for Cake’ and cut it out with a circle punch.

A little Lemon Lolly twine and some long retired gems were the perfect touch! I am trying to use up my vast stash of embellishments!

I hope this card inspires you to do some stamping with the Cake Fancy stamp set! I do really think it is a gem in the Occasions catalogue!

I can’t to see what Artisan Design Team member Maheswari has created for our blog hop today! I love all of her designs so I know I will be inspired. Make sure you go all around the hop to maximize your inspiration!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 4!

Hello my friends! Welcome back for another day of inspiration from myself and Melanie! We are so happy you are here!

Today I want to share a card that was inspired by a Creative Color Challenge from Stampin’ Up!—I love the colors of Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink together. And I am embarrassed to admit this was the first time I have used the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks!

The base of my card is Fresh Freesia and the first layer is Bubble Bath. I used the snowflake stencil and the three mentioned ink pad colors. I love how soft and lovely this background is. Thank you SU for the inspiration!

I love the softness of the background so I knew the sentiment I picked also had to feel more feminine. I found the perfect fit with ‘Merry Christmas’ from the Stars at Night stamp set.

After stamping the sentiment I used two Deckled Circles to bring life to the sentiment. I added some retired ribbon behind #usethatstash and added a teeny heart on top of the linen thread from the new Bee Mine punch. This punch will be available in the upcoming Occasions Catalogue in the new year.

I added a few sequins from the Pastel Sequins Assortment on the top circle for a little bit of a different look.

I really enjoyed making this card and I think you could easily switch up the color palette and recreate this card in a variety of color combinations.

I am so excited to see what Melanie is going to share with us today!

Be Inspired Blog Hop--Let's Get Crafty with the Subtles Family!

Welcome back friends for another edition of the Be Inspired Blog Hop! We are so happy you are here and would love all of your comments on our projects, or to share our hop with a friend or two. If you like my stamping style you can also follow me on Instagram @stampwithbrenda!

This month we are designing with the Subtles family—now I didn’t see a rule about it being NEW colors to the Subtle family so I decided to go that route!

I created a card, yes a CARD, not a scrapbook page this month, although I think my card will be inspiring a future scrapbook layout. My card features the new Lemon Lolly and Bubble Bath Core Colors and the returning color Lost Lagoon.

I started with a base and first layer of Lemon Lolly. I ran my layer partially through the new Twisted Rope 3D folder and a added a fun strip of stripped DSP from the Delightfully Eclectic 12x12 DSP in Bubble Bath and Basic White. I love a good stripe pattern no matter the color scheme!

The stamping on my card features the new Cheerful Daisies Bundle which I am really enjoying creating with.

I like that you can design with 2 Step Stamping or single images that you can stamp and cut out, like I did with larger daisy behind the sentiment or stamp the line image and color in. This set has a lot of creative possibilities!

Isn’t this new lemon lolly color lucious? it reminds me of lemonade!

The ribbon behind the sentiment is Bubble Bath and its one of three colors in the 3/8 Sheer Ribbon Combo pack that is coming out in the new Annual catalogue in May 2023. I love the silver edge on the ribbon.

The daisies are all stamped in Lemon Lolly with the center on the front flower being stamped in Pecan Pie. I did stamp it off on my scratch paper so it was a little lighter. The leaves are stamped in Lost Lagoon which I felt worked because it become more ‘green’ on this project.

And of course I had to add some embellishments in Lemon Lolly. I really love tone on tone embellishments and the variety in our new catalogue is AWESOME! These are from the new Adhesive Backed Solid Gems.

I know you are going to be so excited to start stamping with all of the new Core Colors, especially when you see the members of the updated Subtles family. I hope this color combo of Lemon Lolly, Bubble Bath and Lost Lagoon inspires you to create you own fun project in the future. Happy Stamping!
