Be Inspired Blog Hop--Fun with Embossing Folders!

Hello my crafty friends! Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop! This month (can you believe its the end of September already?) we are focusing on Embossing Folders. We have so many fantastic ones to choose from so I thought, why not use as many as possible!

I used a total of 8 different embossing Folders to create this page! I am so happy with how it turned out. I love how the fall colors jump off the crisp Basic White background as well.

The Folders I used were:

  1. 2 folders from the Online Exclusive Basics 3D Embossing Folders

  2. Cane Weave

  3. Exposed 3D Brick

  4. Painted Texture

  5. Timeworn Type

  6. Twisted Rope

  7. Distressed Tile

I cut each Basic White square or panel to 3 7/8 x 3 7/8 so that they can fit on your 12 x 12 and look like a bit of a grid. They give such an amazing texture!

You can find the words ‘to’ and ‘you’ in the Sending Cheer stamp set.

I used the large 2 3/8 punch to create a circle that was turned into an easy tag with the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon and some black bakers twine.

I stamped the background with the star cluster from the Tricks & Treats stamp set and used the ghost and ‘boo’ from the coordinating dies.

The Pick of the Patch stamp set has been a craft room favorite these past couple of weeks so there was no doubt I was going to use it to add some fun pumpkins! I turned one into a jack o lantern and added some little leaves that were stamped in Pebbled Path.

On this little vignette I added ‘Happy Halloween’ and another little pumpkin patch!

The photos are on a double photo mat—Basic Black and Smoky Slate to really help them pop about the white textured background. A few of the In Color Enamel Dots added to my layout!

Thank you to the Edmonton corn maze for the great photo opps!

I am really excited to see what the rest of the team has created focusing on Embossing Folders. There really are so many different techniques and ways to use these. They are definitely a craft room staple item in my opinion! I hope this page gives you some inspiration on how you could even incorporate mini squares on a card front using a variety of folders.

A Card a Day in May--Day 7!!

Hello friends! I have another manly man card for you today! I am excited as this card will be a part of my upcoming The Man’s Man card class in early June! So consider this a fun little sneak peek! And if you live in the YEG area I hope you will consider coming to one of my “In Person” card classes this year!

I was so excited about this new Brewed For You Bundle in our new annual catalogue. A: because I enjoy BEER and B: because BEER is Fun and C: its awesome to see some more ‘manly man’ stuff in our catalogues!

I used Night as Navy as the base and first layer for this card while stamping some fun beer mugs on the base in the same ink color.

I wrapped some of the Fan Bakers Twine around the first layer and over top I added the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies #addtocart

Hot Tip: Click with shop with me button or product images at any time to be directed to my online store

Even though this card is in a more manly man color scheme (Night of Navy, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider and Crushed Curry) you can still give it to a beer loving gal pal or re-create it with a more gally gal color palette!

The two different been mugs are stamped with Momento Ink and then I very lightly added a touch of Balmy Blue ink with a Water Painter to accentuate the glass. The detail on the foam has a bit of Dark So Saffron added with the Stampin’ Blend.

Both mugs and foam are popped up on Dimensionals as well. The sentiment ‘Another Round for Your Birthday’ is stamped in white craft ink and embossed. I also used the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut the sentiment.

And lastly I added a few of the dark blue rhinestones from the Waves Rhinestones because secretly I think men like bling.

Hope you are enjoying the first WEEK of A Card a Day in May—31 projects will be shared this month! I can’t wait as I am also MAILING a card a day as well! This is great motivation for me! :)

Create with Connie and Mary--All In Colors, All in ONE!

This week we are challenged to create a project that incorporates all 5 of our new In Colors onto one project! I actually love doing this and often create cards and scrapbook pages with this design theme.

Our new In Colors are just so fantastic as they look awesome together as a group and they work so well to complement our existing colors. So it was not hard to create with them!

I used the Banners Pick a Punch to create the banners or flags along the left edge in the following colors: Evening Evergreen, Fresh Freesia, Soft Succulent, Pale Papaya and Polished Pink.

I cut a panel of Basic White card stock to layer overtop and pop up with Dimensionals. For the background I stamped the floral image from the Art in Bloom stamp set in Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.

The sentiment is from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set and is stamped in Polished Pink ink and punched with a 2 inch circle (or you can use the Layering Circle Dies) and also popped up with Dimensionals.

Finally I added a couple clear circles from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials which added a nice detail without distracting from the crisp clean background.

You can go BACK to see what Melissa designed this week or keep going along with the hop and see what Connie has created. I hope you are enjoying these new In Colors as much as we all are!
