Color Fusers-February 2021

Hello friends! Welcome to another Color Fusers Blog Hop! I am so excited to be hoping with this talented group of ladies for 2021, especially with these color combos forcing me out of my comfort zone!

The Color Challenge for February includes Gorgeous Grape, Magenta Madness, and Bermuda Bay—three very very bright colors! I was a little intimidated by this color combo!

Because these are such bold vibrant colors I new that I needed to begin on a pretty neutral base so I went with Basic White card stock for my base. I had some strips of these colors in my scrap bin which gave me an idea for incorporating them into the background.

The strips of card stock are actually all different random widths which I think helped achieved a whimsical background!

I decided to use the Pretty Perennials Bundle on this card project as I haven’t had much of an opportunity to stamp with it quite yet. I stamped some of the images from the stamp set on the Magenta Madness and Gorgeous Grape strips on the coordinating ink color.

I really wanted the colors to be the focal point of this card so I used Basic White, Vellum and the new Pearlescent Specialty Paper to embellish the card with flowers and leaves from the Perennial Petals Dies.

The flower on the top right is on a Pearlescent base with Basic White layer on top and Opal Round.

I cut apart the large vellum leaf/sprig to add in few more sprigs.

The word ‘Happy’ is stamped in White Craft Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder on Bermuda Bay card stock. You will need to hand trim this word as the die set does not include a die to cut it out.

“Sending Lots of Happy” is stamped on another strip of Magenta Madness in the coordinating ink. Both of the sentiments are popped up with Dimensionals.

I hope you are inspired to create a fun project using this color combo yourself!

Hot Pink House!

Who would not love to live in a hot pink house? I mean its just beyond cute! I bet if I searched there are people on the east coast of Canada living in a hot pink house as it seems to be an east coast thing! Sadly on the prairies we are pretty boring! When I was a kid I would see images like this and imagine the life I would be living inside, did you ever do that? I can safely say I didn’t see myself designing cards as a living but I am so blessed to be doing so!

This is a card I shared with my Christmas Card group the other night and I couldn’t keep it to myself. It uses the Trimming the Town Suite from the Handmade for You catalogue. This suite is extra special because proceeds of the stamp set or bundle go towards charities devoted to adoption, infertility and foster care. Three things that I have a connection too so this suite has a bit of extra meaning to me.

I am not exactly sure what inspired this unique color combo but it is Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green and Seaside Spray! And I could not love it more. I stamped the ‘Be Merry’ in Seaside Spray across the background and flicked it with the coordinating Stampin’ Write marker. The sentiment is from the Banner Year stamp set in the catalogue. It is a perfect set to recommend to new stampers because it has imagery and sentiments for fall, halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day so they can get quite a bit of mileage out of it.

I cut the snow bank using the Home Together dies and used Shimmery White card stock so it was one or two tones different than the background. The hot pink house (sounds so fun) and the trees are all coloured with our Stampin’ Blends.

This is a card you can recreate in a million different color combos! I hope you are inspired and if you need any of the supplies, please feel free to order from my online store!

Create with Connie and Mary--Favourite NEW In Color!

Since Stampin’ Up! released the 5 new In Colors—Cinnamon Cider, Just Jade, Bumblee Bee, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight, my FAVOURITE of the 5 colors has changed almost every week as I discover new things I love about each one. As you can see from my bright and colourful cards, I have chosen Magenta Madness of my favourite new color du jour! I actually had a great time making these cards as they use a One Sheet Wonder template that I found on Pinterest that was originally shared by Kelly Kent, a demonstrator in Australia. I had to make one small adjustment as our card sizes/bases are a little smaller than what she was using.

If you are in North America and want to follow this template, just trim Panel A to 5 1/2—easy adjustment! Cut the DSP starting with Panel A and set off to the side. You can then cut Panel B and divide it into Panel C. That should leave you with a …

Once I had selected Magenta Madness as my favourite color to work with this week, I new pairing it with the Flowers for Every Season DSP was a perfect choice as it has such a fun cheery color palette. Once I selected this super floral pattern, I new I could take these cards to the Avid level by accentuating them with the All Things Fabulous Bundle!

With each of the cards I did some background Tone on Tone stamping with the Magenta Madness ink and some marker flicking. The pink flowers are stamped in three pink colors—Blushing Bride, Magenta Madness and Melon Mambo in that order. If you have …

I love how perfectly this stamp set worked to create these cards. I was able to use a different sentiment from the set on each card, making it a really easy class option!

The yellow flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight, Bumblebee and Crushed Curry in that order. I stamped the leaves in Just Jade to pull out the green on the DSP. Some of the leaves are stamped on Mint Macaron and some on Whisper White.

I addd in Blushing Bride as some mats for the DSP and its was the perfect compliment to Magenta Madness. I decided to keep all of the sentiment stamping in black ink as to not compete with all of the bright colours in the DSP.

Color POP!

I just love how BRIGHT and fun this card is! It is an awesome card to share with your team and customers to give them a sampling of our five incredible new In Colors! This is my 28th card for my “A Card a Day in May” challenge!

The colors are Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider. I was inspired to make this card by one in the upcoming new catalogue! It is a great source of inspiration!

I added in strips of designer series paper and card stock to create interest and variety. I used strips from the 6x6 Designer Series Paper and 6x6 Flowers for Every Season Designer Series paper.

And because we don’t have access to the new ink pads yet I stamped my sentiment in Versamark with embossed with clear embossing powder. Just Saying Hello is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. The floral image is stamped with Staz On from the Ornate Style stamp set. A little bit of ribbon, Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and Magenta Madness 1/4 ribbon completed this card!

The NEW In Colors for 2020-2022 of course! I am sure you have seen them floating around online already! They are Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Just Jade!

This card is a fabulous way to showcase these five new amazing colors! They look outstanding together and will compliment our existing lineup in an awesome way.

I used the Stitched Stars dies to cut out the front image and then layered strips of card stock behind in varying widths. I thought it was a fun way to present these colors especially paired with the sentiment “Hello Fabulous” from the Dressed to Impress stamp set, which will be in the new catalogue!

Adding in a couple couple new embellishments is also a great way to showcase the New In Colors. I used the In Color Enamel Dots, 1/4 inch ribbon in Misty Moonlight and the 1/4 gingham ribbon in Bumblebee. I also snuck in some Gold Metallic thread …

I used the In Color Enamel Dots, 1/4 inch ribbon in Misty Moonlight and the 1/4 gingham ribbon in Bumblebee. I also snuck in some Gold Metallic thread as I will use it until my last spool is gone (cue heartbreaking).
