Beauty of Friendship

I love this time of year, it actually might be a little bit more exciting for Christmas! Not as much holiday stress and all of the presents are for ME! Hahaha! I love new catalogue time and luckily as a Stampin’ Up! lover it happens several times a year with our Annual and Mini Catty publications.

We also get a batch of 5 new In Colors being released and I really think SU knocked it out of the park this time with the 2021-2023 collection. I wanted to make a card with the luscious Evening Evergreen for a swap I am participating in with my team.

There is only ONE thing on this card that isn’t NEW…can you spot it?

There is only ONE thing on this card that isn’t NEW…can you spot it?

As I mentioned, the base of this card is Evening Evergreen which is such a nice rich green that really fills a gap in our current color offerings.

The strip of leaf DSP is actually from the new HOSTESS DSP, Pattern Party, stack that will be available. Can we get a “HECK YES” for having this as an option? I really think this will be something our hostesses will not be able to pass up! In this amazing paper stack, one side is black and white prints and the other is bright and colorful designs. The best of both worlds!

The best part of black and white patterns is that they can become any color you like. I used the Blending Brushes (now back in stock, yay!) with Crushed Curry to make the leaves a golden tone. I then used my Mango Melody Dark Blend marker to just highlight the veining in the leaves.

I added a little strip of Cinnamon Cider card stock beneath this DSP strip to add in a golden brown tone to this card.

I decided to stamp a tree from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on the coordinating card stock and die cut it with the Beautiful Trees Dies. Then I added this to my layering piece of Evening Evergreen and slighting trimmed the side of the tree. Because this is such a deep green, doing this gave the card another layer of dimension.

The sentiment “You Truly Inspire Me” is from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set and I die cut the sentiment with the Scalloped Contours Dies (I am in love, I doubt they will actually get put away). The sentiment is stamped using the new Soft Succulent In Color and I gave it a little spray with my marker to help take away the white.

Behind the sentiment I layered the new Open Weave Ribbon in Evening Evergreen and some twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack.

I love how this card turned out especially because it is not a color palette that I usually use! Sometimes it is good to challenge yourself!

Bountiful Blessings--Create with Connie and Mary!

Welcome to another Saturday edition of Create with Connie and Mary! This week our theme is Bountiful Blessings so I reached for a ‘tried and true’ stamp set from my collection, Country Home. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the ‘new’ stamp sets we have because they are fresh and feel exciting, but we still have fabulous returning favorites in our annual catalogue!

You can make these sets feel ‘fresh and new’ by pairing them up with new colors, embellishments and designer series papers like I have done here.

And sharing items from both of our catalogue publications is key to making sure people know about all of the fabulous products we offer!

I love to color and this set totally fills that need! I used a color palette of Cinnamon Cider, Mint Macaron, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody and Old Olive to color and develop this card.

The Mint Macaron layer has the tile image from the stamp set stamped in the coordinating ink color so you just get a glimpse. The main layer of the card is from the In Good Taste DSP collection. LOVE IT!

I wanted to fill out the milk jug a bit with extra foliage so I reached for the Forever Flourishing Dies (pg 110) to add in the little sprigs, they are the perfect itty bitty size to keep in scale with the stamped image!

I wanted to add some gold accents to this card, as gold feels like a fall color to me. I used the Gilded Gems and some Gold Foil paper that I cut with a border die from the Autumn Essentials Die set. I really love die sets that have border options as I find I use them a lot to help highlight a sentiment or photo. And borders with a unique shape can be a great way to add in a subtle pop of color too!

A little Linen Thread bow finishes off the milk jug perfectly!

I really love the color palette of this card so you might see it in an upcoming scrapbook page too!

I hope everyone is soaking up the last few days of September! It went by so fast and now we are into a new month with my favorite holiday! Unless my own birthday can count as a holiday! hahaha!

Make sure you either hop forward to Connie’s blog (NEXT) or backwards to Melissa’s blog (BACK) to see what amazing creations they are sharing with us this week! And if this is your first time joining us, feel free to go back through my blog and see what we have been creating!

Color POP!

I just love how BRIGHT and fun this card is! It is an awesome card to share with your team and customers to give them a sampling of our five incredible new In Colors! This is my 28th card for my “A Card a Day in May” challenge!

The colors are Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider. I was inspired to make this card by one in the upcoming new catalogue! It is a great source of inspiration!

I added in strips of designer series paper and card stock to create interest and variety. I used strips from the 6x6 Designer Series Paper and 6x6 Flowers for Every Season Designer Series paper.

And because we don’t have access to the new ink pads yet I stamped my sentiment in Versamark with embossed with clear embossing powder. Just Saying Hello is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set. The floral image is stamped with Staz On from the Ornate Style stamp set. A little bit of ribbon, Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and Magenta Madness 1/4 ribbon completed this card!

Double Front Card

It has been a while since I have made a Double Front Card (at least that is what I know it as) and I thought I would kick off the last week of my “A Card a Day in May” challenge with something fun! I also used all new products on this card as well and am so happy with the end result!

The base of my card is the new In Color, Cinnamon Cider which is cut to 6 3/8 x 5 1/2. Score at 4 inches on the long side. I cut a layering strip of Cinnamon Cider card stock to 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 which I ran through the new Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. This adhered to the little flap on the base of the card front.

The base for the inside card, Whisper White, is 8 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 inches on the long side.

I cut two pieces of Misty Moonlight to 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 for the front and inside decorative panels.

Cut two pieces of Whisper White to 2 1/2 x 4 to layer on top. This is where I did my fun stamping!

On the inside flap I added some DSP from the Flowers for Every Season 6x6 stack. It is 2 x 5 1/4. I added a second little strip to the card base which peeks through when the card is closed. It is 1 x 5 1/4.

Adhere the Whisper White card base to the Cinnamon Cider base making sure to keep a little bit of space between the folds. You can then add the two Misty Moonlight panels making sure that the second one (attached to the Whisper White base) is hidden behind the first one. Embellish your card as desired!

I used the Lovely You and Field of Flowers stamp sets on my card. The sentiments on Just Jade are stamped with Versamark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I cut both out using the Tasteful Labels dies.

I added threads behind my sentiments that I deconstructed from the open weave ribbon found in the Forever Greenery Trim Combo pack. It might just be my favourite new trick. I have to replace that Metallic Thread with something! And finally the little green gems on the front are from the Flowers for Every Season gems collection. They really do finish off the front panel.

This is the inside view of the first panel. You can see how I added in the DSP and have attached the two Misty Moonlight panels so they line up. The second one is hidden until you open the card.

And finally the next flip takes you to the back base of the card where I included another sentiment found in the Lovely You stamp set.

Isn’t the detail in the thread and gems just the perfect touch? It really elevated the sophistication of this card!

Introducing...

The NEW In Colors for 2020-2022 of course! I am sure you have seen them floating around online already! They are Misty Moonlight, Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, Cinnamon Cider, and Just Jade!

This card is a fabulous way to showcase these five new amazing colors! They look outstanding together and will compliment our existing lineup in an awesome way.

I used the Stitched Stars dies to cut out the front image and then layered strips of card stock behind in varying widths. I thought it was a fun way to present these colors especially paired with the sentiment “Hello Fabulous” from the Dressed to Impress stamp set, which will be in the new catalogue!

Adding in a couple couple new embellishments is also a great way to showcase the New In Colors. I used the In Color Enamel Dots, 1/4 inch ribbon in Misty Moonlight and the 1/4 gingham ribbon in Bumblebee. I also snuck in some Gold Metallic thread …
