Be Inspired Blog Hop--Sale a Bration 2024!

Hi friends! Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop for January! We are all sharing some project inspiration featuring Sale a bration items. Now, if you have been a Stampin’ Up! fan for a while, would you agree with. me that this is one of our BEST Sale a bration offerings EVER! I am loving the variety of things we can choose for FREE!

Valentine’s Day is a really fun day around our house. I host a ‘pink dinner’ for my kids and even though they are teens, I still spoil them with fun valentine’s gifts. Of course, I also love to make a fun place setting treat for them for our pink dinner and the Most Adored 12x12 paper was perfect for creating some fun little treat boxes to dress up our table.

I used the Square Pillow Box and left the top flap open to create a fun little box to stick in a box of chocolates. Both the box and chocolates are wrapped in the Most Adored 12x12 paper in the two heart patterns in the DSP. Having the box left open creates a fun opportunity to stuff it full of fun Valentine’s treats and other stuff (I will probably add some gift cards or cold hard cash inside for my teens). Top off the box or add filler around your treat with some paper shreddie that you can easily pick up at most box stores in the party isle.

I love how simply keeping the box open creates the opportunity to stick in fun treats like this wrapped sleeve of chocolates. The sentiment on the box is die cut with the Everyday Details Dies which I am just loving at the moment! I didn’t even get the stamp set, I just got the Dies!

Using the Black& White Gingham ribbon on both projects helps unite the two projects. And the Heartfelt Hellos was a perfect set to add to these projects. A couple cute little foil hearts also add a special touch—you can find them in the Adorning Hearts Dies.

I hope this project inspires you to create some fun easy Valentine’s projects for the special people in your life too using just a few supplies—two of which you can get for FREE during Sale a bration 2024!

Be Inspired Blog Hop-Holiday Time!

Hi friends! Welcome to the Be Inspired Blog Hop! We have added some new members to our monthly Blog Hop and I am so excited! So make sure you go and visit all of the wonderful projects being shared and leave us some happy comments!

The theme for our Hop this month is HOLIDAY TIME and of course that meant that I had to share something Christmas related in the form of a scrapbook page. As much as I love to make cards, I really do love to scrapbook as my first passion.

When thinking of Christmas I was thinking of gift tags so I decided to make an oversized gift tag as a photo mat, and I am so happy with how it turned out!

I cut my standard 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 photo mat in Pebbled Path—this color choice was a direct result of the Joy of Christmas DSP—I LOVE this paper! I love the unconventional use of grey and brown tones in with classic Christmas colors.

I cut the tag portion of my photo mat after gluing the Pebbled Path layer to some Basic White. I added a scallop border to the bottom with Real Red and some Black & Very Vanilla Gingham ribbon to the top portion.

I used the Classic Christmas Dies to add in ‘ Season’s Greetings’, stamped in Pecan Pie ink. I used the large image from the Joy of Noel stamp set, to add some background stamping in Smoky Slate at is the base of my scrapbook layout.

I cut a variety of 2x2 squares of the Joy of Christmas DSP to add in a diamond format to the base of my page. This is such a good way to highlight and incorporate DSP into your page designs.

It also gave my another opportunity to add a sentiment and I decided to focus on ‘Christmas’ also stamped in Pecan Pie ink for continuity. Some greenery in behind in Shaded Spruce and Old Olive helps tie in the color scheme found in the DSP.

I used a little more gingham ribbon behind both sentiments as well so that everything feels connected on the page.

I love how this page is a mix of modern with the grey tones and traditional with the red and greens. Its one of my favorite scrapbook pages I have made lately and I can’t wait to add a holiday photo to it!

I am so excited to see what the rest of the Be Inspired Blog Hop team has created with our theme of ‘Holiday Time’!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 12!

Ho Ho Holy smokes! How did our 12 Days of Christmas end so fast? I can’t believe we are at the end, but we are! And I truly hope you have enjoyed all of the projects that Melanie @melsinkyfingers and I have been sharing with you. If you missed any, please make sure you go back and take a peek!

The last project I want to share with you today is an easy card box, that you can store you holiday cards in or fill with cards to give as a gift to a co-worker, friend, family member, teacher or more! Who would not love the gift of cards?

This box is made from one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 card stock and is decorated with the Christmas Classics Bundle—the whole Joy of Noel Suite is probably my favorite in the catalogue. I do have to say that I love traditional Christmas colors the most. They just make crafting and designing so easy!

I cut an extra panel of Real Red card stock for the front of the box and ran it through the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is simply amazing, it literally works with ANY type of design!

I wrapped a 2 x 12 piece of the Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper around the box—now its not big enough, so you will need another 2x2 piece to fill in the gap. I specifically chose this pattern because its ‘busy’ so adding in an extra piece was hardly noticed. I tied a piece of the Black & Very Vanilla Check Ribbon around the box and made a gorgeous Tammy Bow to go on the front.

As you can see, the box is big enough to fit several card and envelopes. Even a cello bag with a holiday treat inside works! The possibilities are really endless.

Deck the Halls is embossed in gold and cut out with one of the shapes from the Christmas Classics Dies. I added some greenery and sprigs behind the sentiment as well in Shaded Spruce and Old Olive card stock.

It is such a beautiful project that doesn’t take that long to put together!

Here is a template for you to follow if you would like to create a box of your own. Start by trimming your card stock to 10 1/2 x 8.

Score @ 1, 3, 7.5 and 9.5 inches on the LONG SIDE

Score @ 3 and 5 on the SHORT SIDE

Trim away the shaded areas as shown:

I used Tear’n Tape to secure my box together and to wrap around the DSP belly band to a bit to hold the ribbon in place too.

You could even use the front of the box as card inspiration!

I cannot wait to see what project Melanie is going to share for her 12th day.

Thank you for following along with us!

12 Days of Christmas--Day 6!

Happy mid-point friends! If you have been following along so far, thank you so much! If you are just joining today, make sure to go back and see what you have missed from myself and Melanie @melsinkyfingers

Switching gears a little bit today—I mean I LOVE card but I also like to use my supplies in other ways. My friend Cindy Schuster shared a version of this project a while back and I fell in love! THIS is what I love about our Stampin’ community! Sharing and inspiring each other!

Cindy’s original project had a photo in the center and was a bit of a different color scheme. I liked the idea to be a tag for a gift bag or box or something pretty to hang on your tree.

I started with the Christmas Classics Dies—truly, they are a must have! You should definitely #addtocart if you have not already!

I started with a base of Shaded Spruce for the main panel. I added the another layer with a different die from the set, cut in Basic Black. I love how I was able to incorporate black into this design by using the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon as the hanger.

I added a panel/square of DSP from the Joy of Christmas collection. Using Very Vanilla as a base I stamped the large image from the Joy of Noel stamp set in Memento ink and used the ‘lazy watercoloring’ method to color the image in Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler ink.

Once done coloring with the Shaded Spruce and my Water Painter, I flicked it across the background. I could not love it more!

The shape is die cut using the Classic Christmas dies. Fun FACT: I also cut a back piece to cover up and finish off the back of this piece using the same die in Shaded Spruce. This way if the project gets flipped on its back, it has a more professional finished feel.

Joyous is stamped with White Craft Ink and embossed. I fussy cut it out with snips and added it with a couple Mini Dimensionals.

My intention with sharing this project is that you are inspired to use your supplies for MORE than just cards! Who would not love to have this hanging off of their gift?

What does Melanie have to share today? Let’s head on over to check it out!

Please consider shopping my store if you are thinking you want to make these too for your family and friends! You order allows me to keep doing what I love! Thank you in advance!

Backstage Presents for my People

Hi friends! I really hope you enjoyed my Creative Convention last week while I was in Vegas at Backstage. I had so much fun creating those projects for you!

Backstage was so much fun, my cup and heart are full. I am so excited about this upcoming holiday season and all the fun we are going to have crafting together! I love to have people here in my Home Studio in the YEG area and I host lots of stuff on zoom/facebook! So if you haven’t crafted with me before maybe this will be an opportunity for us!

One of the fun things of getting together at any Stampin’ Up! event, whether is company hosted, or hosted by demonstrators, is the PEOPLE! We know this right? So of course I had to take some gifts to my ‘people’!

The absolute HIGHLIGHT of Backstage for me was getting to me some fellow members of the Artisan Design Team, both current and past! My friends Heather @songbirdstamper was coming over from the UK so of course I had to give her a gift of Canadian maple syrup and some maple Sweet Georgia Browns from a Canadian chocolatier company, Purdy’s.

I thought this little tin was cute to share with my roomie and best stamping buddy, Tammy Nelson @stampandscraptammy—We met a few years back on the Alaskan incentive trip and have been having fun together ever since. I thought after enjoying all of the maple truffles inside she could pop this tin up in her craft room aa a little reminder of me!

These tags were inspired by a card that my fellow Canadian Teammate Verena @simple_stamper shared a couple weeks back! I thought the design was easy and perfect to convert into tags! The maple leaf is stamped in Real Red ink on coordinating card stock. Once you cut your tag to size, use the maple leaf die cut to create a negative image. You can then pop your stamped image in behind.

For the Starbucks mugs, I wrapped strips of Real Red card stock around the boxes that I stamped with the large maple leaf stamp in the Autumn Leaves stamp set. The sentiments ‘For You Friend’ are from the Best Family Ever stamp set!

I did a MUG SWAP with Kurstan @stampwithkurstan_ which was so much fun! Now I have a San Francisco mug to add to my collection! She also filled it with chocolates which caused my carry-on suitcase to get inspected at security! I guess they looked suspicious in there!

I took an Alberta mug as a surprise to my friend Melanie @melsinkyfingers—you may remember last holiday season we did a 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop and I am so happy we are going to offer that to you again starting on November 1st! We are working out the details on an event as well, so stay tuned!

Of course I had to pick myself up a Las Vegas mug for my collection and this itty bitty Nevada mini mug! Isn’t it so cute! Its a perfect little decor item for my stamp room!

I will be sharing alot more fun stuff—pictures and reels on my Instagram so make sure you are following me along there!
